3 Grid-Down Recipes with Canned Meat, Rice, and Noodles – No Beans, No Electricity!

Total grid-down scenario – no power, no shopping, no fresh veggies, and absolutely no beans. @stacyjames7 asked for meals using canned meat, rice or noodles, powdered butter, and powdered cheese, cooked only over the fire – plus a start-to-finish demo. But I’m also mixing it up with some freeze-dried options, like shredded cheese and ham chunks.

1 can of chicken (12-14 oz, drained) OR 1 cup freeze-dried chicken chunks (rehydrated)
1 cup white rice
2 cups water
2 tablespoons powdered cheese OR 1/4 cup freeze-dried shredded cheese (rehydrated)
1 tablespoon powdered butter OR 1 tablespoon oil
Salt and pepper (optional)

1 can of Spam (12 oz, diced) OR 1 cup freeze-dried ham chunks (rehydrated)
2 cups noodles
3 cups water
2 tablespoons powdered butter OR 2 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons powdered cheese OR 1/3 cup freeze-dried shredded cheese (rehydrated)
