Evaluating your potential risk and developing a family emergency plan is foundational to your success. This week we encourage you to do a risk assessment and create, or improve, your family emergency plan. As you focus on this area you will better understand what to prep for and ensure your family has the best chance.

1. Research the possible risks for your local area. Just do an internet search for risks and hazards in your city, state, and county. Make a list of everything that you could possibly be at risk for.
2. Create a list of potential ways to mitigate or lessen the impact of those risks.
3. Create or update your written family plan – all contact information, photos, evacuation destinations, etc. Your family plan may include security, food storage, backup power, contact information, etc.
4. Communicate the updated family plan with everyone involved.
