Our power got shut off at 2 a.m. last night! We're out of gas. After using the last of our fuel reserves, this unexpected event forced us to take a trip in the middle of the night through rural backroads to find an open gas station just to be able to keep our essential systems running. Along the way, we discuss why fuel storage, backup power, cash on hand, and why preparedness matters so much when unexpected disruptions strike.

As we dealt with this problem, it also got us thinking about the bigger picture! Our aging power grid, increasing energy demand, and why I believe power interruptions may become more common in the future. Ride along with us as we look at what happened, what we learned, and why preparedness has become such an important part of our everyday life.
